A body of new work following the understory of the rainforest creekbed at the foot of Macquarie Pass NSW on Dharawal land. This area follows on from my previous work in the Glimmers exhibition, moving along from the rushing epic waterfalls to find a slower, meandering walk in and out of creek bedded rocks, the quality of light in an out of the green understory develop a shift in the language of marks and colour.
The creek is not an isolated or static scene, it is part of a complex living system, vulnerable to changes in climate, water flow, habitat and human intervention. Small shifts within such an environment can have consequences that extend far beyond what is immediately visible. I am drawn to the creekbed because it makes these vulnerabilities tangible. Its surfaces carry evidence of both resilience and fragility. Water can appear gentle, yet over time it has the power to transform stone and a landscape can seem enduring while being continually altered beneath our feet.
These works will be exhibited in “Threefold” at Australian Galleries Melbourne with Belinda Fox and Jock Clutterbuck 13th Oct - 31st Oct 2026.
“Suspended in stone” is a series of six Orchid stone lithographs created in response to the history of the Botanic Gardens Sydney. The works were exhibited in early 2026 at the Garden Gallery Botanic Gardens Sydney
